Fiscal Year 2027
Program Purpose: The Maryland Energy Administration is pleased to announce the FY27 Community Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Program to increase access to affordable and reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging networks and reduce transportation greenhouse gas emissions throughout Maryland, especially in overburdened communities.
Competitive grants are available for Level 2 or Level 3 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) installations for the following project types:
- Multi-family Housing (MFH) means an apartment-style building with 5 or more units providing dedicated EV charging infrastructure for housing occupants and visitors.
- Curbside means providing EV charging infrastructure on public roadsides for use by street-parked vehicles.
- Parking Hub means dedicated EV charging infrastructure for visitors of public and private parking lots and garages.
- Workplace means providing dedicated EV charging infrastructure for employees and visitors to use for their personal vehicles at their workplace.
- Fleet means providing dedicated EV charging infrastructure for commercially used vehicles, industrial fleet vehicles or electric school buses. A fleet is considered to be three or more vehicles.
Program Type: Competitive Grant
Target Audience: Businesses, nonprofits, local governments, local education agencies, and certain higher education institutions.

Anticipated Program Budget: MEA anticipates up to $16,500,000 will be available from the SEIF for grants awarded under this Program. The total amount awarded may be more or less, depending on the funding sources, the amount available and restrictions on each funding source, and the number and quality of applications received.

FY25 Quarterly Progress Reporting Requirement:
All FY25 Community EVSE Program grantees must submit Quarterly Progress Reports. These reports provide regular project updates and serve as the mechanism for submitting reimbursement requests.
