Building Energy Performance Standards

MD Clean Buildings Hub (1).pngThe Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 established a statewide Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) which encourages Maryland’s large commercial and multifamily buildings (35,000 square feet and larger) to reduce onsite energy use and greenhouse gas emissions over time and reach net-zero emissions by 2040.

The Maryland Clean Buildings Hub, an initiative of the Maryland Energy Administration, is committed to connecting building owners with funding and financing opportunities, technical assistance, and other resources to help make well-informed energy investments. The Hub can help buildings covered by the BEPS get started. Sign-up for the Hub's monthly newsletter here. Have questions? Contact cleanbuildingshub@maryland.gov.
