THE FY2026 MECHANICAL INSULATION GRANT PROGRAM
IS NOW CLOSED AND IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
New! FY2027 Commercial & Community Buildings Grant Program Request for Information (RFI): The Maryland Energy Administration's FY2027 Commercial & Community Buildings RFI is now available. We welcome feedback from interested stakeholders to help inform program design and development. Responses will be accepted via JotForm through Friday, July 3.
Program Purpose: The Mechanical Insulation Grant Program (Program) provides grants to eligible individuals, nonprofit organizations, and business entities to help incentivize the installation of mechanical insulation on a commercial or industrial property, thereby enabling energy-saving improvements to large-scale thermal distribution networks. Please see the Funding Opportunity Announcement below for more information.
Application Deadline: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until funding is fully awarded or until December 17, 2025 at 3 P.M., whichever occurs first. Earlier application submittals are strongly encouraged in order to have the best chance of obtaining funding under the Program.

Additional Resources:
- The
Jane E. Lawton Conservation Loan Program, which lends funding at below-market interest rates, to obtain loan financing to supplement FY24 Mechanical Insulation grants or for financing the installation of other energy efficiency technologies.
- The
FY26 Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Grant Program, which defrays the cost of installing eligible energy efficiency improvements.
- Note that both Lawton Loans and C&I Grants can be used to defray the cost of implementing building shell insulation.
