EmPOWER Maryland CHP Grant Program (MEA EmPowerMdCHP)
Main_Content
In support of EmPOWER Maryland, MEA will provide grant awards to implement Combined Heat and Power (CHP) technologies in Healthcare and Publicly Owned Wastewater Treatment facilities.
The FY15 MEA EmPowerMdCHP grant program will provide grants to encourage the implementation of CHP technologies in Healthcare and Publicly Owned Wastewater Treatment facilities in Maryland.
The incentive grants range in size from up to $425/kW to up to $575/kW, based on the size of the CHP system, with a maximum per project cap of $500,000, subject to funding availability.
CHP projects must service loads in a Healthcare facility (hospital, assisted living, nursing home, and surgical center) or Publicly Owned Wastewater Treatment facility. The CHP system must meet a 60% efficiency minimum, based on the higher heating value (HHV) of the fuel.
The system must be fully commissioned by January 1, 2017.
