Grants & Loans​​


BeSMART Energy Efficiency Loan for Homeowners​
​Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's loan provides financing to improve energy efficiency, ex.replacing and upgrading appliances, heating, ventilation and cooling systems, and whole house envelope improvements.
Clean Burning Wood Stove Rebate ProgramReceive rebates for clean wood burning stoves.​​
Community Solar LMI-PPA Program
​Maryland PSC-approved Subscriber Organizations can apply to receive incentives for supplying PPAs that maximize value to low-to-moderate income (LMI) subscribers.
Energy Efficiency Equity Grant Program ​​
​​Local governments and non-profits can apply for competitive grants to enable energy efficiency projects that benefit Marylanders experiencing low-to-moderate income.​​ ​Note: This program was formerly known as the Low-to-Moderate Income Energy Efficiency Grant Program.
Solar Energy Equity Grant Program ​​
​​Local governments and non-profits can apply for competitive grants to enable solar PV projects that benefit Marylanders experiencing low income, or are members of Maryland's overburdened and underserved communities.​​ ​Note: This program was formerly known as the Low Income Solar​ Grant Program.
Residential Clean Energy Rebate Program​Receive financial assistance to install solar photovoltaic, solar water heating, and geothermal heat pumps.


R​ebates

EmPOWER Maryland utility-sponsored programs
Passed in 2008 by the Maryland General Assembly, EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act, established a goal to reduce per capita electricity usage and peak demand 15% by 2015. Energy efficiency is one of the least expensive ways to meet the growing electricity demands of the state, EmPOWER helps to promote energy efficiency saving Marylanders money.​

​Energy Storage Tax Credit Program​Take advantage of this Maryland State income tax credit for your qualified energy storage system.

Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Excise Tax Credit for Plug-In Electric Vehicle Program
​Maryland’s Excise Tax Credit for Plug-In Electric Vehicles is implemented by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), rather than the Maryland Energy Administration.  For more information on the Excise Tax Credit program for plug-in electric vehicles, please see the MVA program website.  Questions related to the EV tax credit program should be directed to MVA at https://mymva.maryland.gov/TAP/IND/?link=ContactMVA.​
