Open Energy Grant Program​
​​The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is interested in receiving proposal​​s that fall outside the range of its other ENERGY programs. 
Decarbonizing Public Schools Pilot Program​Pilot grant program to help ​school districts expand their capacity to manage energy data to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions while designing for future high-performance schools.

Resilient Maryland 
​​Provides grants for the planning, design, and installation of microgrids, resilient facility power systems, and solar plus battery storage systems for resiliency hubs.​
Commercial​ Clean Energy Grant Program​​Receive financial assistance to install solar photovoltaic, solar photovoltaic canopy, solar water heating, geothermal heat pump, and wind turbine systems.
Energy Efficiency Equity Grant​​ Program
​Local governments and non-profits can apply for competitive grants to enable energy efficiency projects that benefit low-to-moderate income Marylanders. Note: This program was formerly known as the Low-to-Moderate Income Energy Efficiency Grant Program.
Solar Energy Equity Grant Program​​
​​Local governments and non-profits can apply for competitive grants to enable solar PV projects that benefit Marylanders experiencing low income, or are members of Maryland's overburdened and underserved communities. Note: This program was formerly known as the Low Income Solar​ Grant Program.
​Jane E. Lawton Conservation Loan Program​​Apply for a loan to identify and install energy conservation improvements. Beginning in FY20: Lawton loans are available to State agencies and supplants the now-closed State Agency Loan Program (SALP).
Maryland Energy Infrastructure Program (MEIP)​Programs designed to expand natural gas options to Maryland.
Maryland Smart Energy Communities (MSEC)
​ Designed to support local governments, state agencies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and communities as they engage in sustainable, long-term, clean energy policies and projects that lead to reduced energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, increased cost savings, and robust clean energy and economic development.
Streetlight and Outdoor Lighting Efficiency Grant Program
​​Grant program to help elligible entities to defray the cost of replacing outdated, less efficient pole-mounted fixtures​ used for street lighting, etc.​​
​​​Public Facilities Solar Grant Program​

​​​Program provides grants to public organizations for the installation of solar PV systems on existing infrastructure.

​Clean Energy and Community Development Pilot Grant Program
​Program to promote economic growth and development while reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change. 
Clean Energy for Local Governments Grant Program
​Program to support local and county governments as they engage in sustainable, long-term, clean energy policies and projects that lead to reduced energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, increased cost savings, and robust clean energy deployment. ​
Maryland Offshore Education and Wind Workforce Training Program
​Provides grant funding on a competitive basis to support new or existing workforce training centers and academic institutions expand their capabilities to support the State’s offshore wind workforce training and education efforts.  ​

Resilient Maryland Capital Development Pilot Program


Pilot grant program providing funds for equipment and installation of microgrids, resilient facility power systems, and resiliency hubs. Inactive program (Incorporated into the Resilient Maryland Program).

​​Program serves low-to-moderate income residents by providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy during power outages. ​Inactive program (Incorporated into the Resilient Maryland Program).
​​Combined Heat and Power Grant Program (CHP)
​Incentives for CHP projects in commercial, industrial, institutional, and critical infrastructure facilities. ​Inactive program
​​​​Community College ENERGY-TO-CASH Program​
​Provides technical, procurement, and financial support to Maryland community colleges seeking to optimize their utility expenses.  Participants will conduct an energy audit that depicts actionable investments and management initiatives. Inactive program
Community Wind Grant Program
​​Offers Maryland non-profits the opportunity to install and manage their own wind energy systems. Inactive program ​
Energy Performance Contracting Assistance Program (EPCAP)
​​MEA provides technical assistance and "owner's agent" services to local governments and public housing authorities to identify the feasibility and aide in the implementation of energy performance contracts for buildings. Inactive program
Net Zero Energy School Initiative Grant Program (NZEGPS)
​MEA will provide grants to Local Education Agencies within the BGE Service Territory to design and construct Net-Zero Energy Schools. Inactive program
