Rebuild America

Rebuild America is a network of hundreds of public-private partnerships across the nation who are saving energy, improving building performance, easing air pollution through reduced energy demand, and enhancing the quality of life through energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. Created by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in 1994, Rebuild America serves as a mechanism for revitalization and job creation in many U.S. communities.

The Maryland Energy Administration on behalf of the State of Maryland is a partner in Rebuild America. For more information about the national program, go to the Department of Energy's Rebuild America page by clicking HERE.

The initial vision of the Maryland Rebuild Partnership is to leverage the resources through the Rebuild America partnership for the benefit of Maryland. The Rebuild America partnership complements the State’s existing activities for green buildings and other energy-efficient programs, bringing valuable resources to the communities and local governments that need them most.

The State entered the Partnership on behalf of the communities and local governments of Maryland and facilitates the exchange of information and resources made available through Rebuild America. The Partnership targets both privately and publicly held commercial and institutional buildings.

Activities such as information dissemination and technical assistance are supported through the coordination of the Maryland Energy Administration in conjunction with other state agencies and the U.S. Department of Energy. The Partnership is also supported through the outreach and education effort associated with the Maryland Green Building Tax Credit.

The Rebuild program has a program specifically targeted at schools. The Department of Energy has technical experts that can show you how to significantly improve the energy efficiency of your school, saving you thousands of dollars in the process.
