ENERGY STAR LED Lighting

Want to save money while showing off the latest lighting technology? Consider ENERGY STAR qualified LED lighting.

LED lighting is an emerging technology that uses the movement of electrons in a semi-conductor material to produce light. This technology, already seen in digital clock displays and indicator lights, is now being applied to residential lighting with significant energy-saving potential. The technology is advancing rapidly and quickly surpassing the efficiency and quality of existing lighting (such as fluorescent or incandescent) – but not all LED lighting is created equal.

Once meeting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) criteria and earning the ENERGY STAR, qualified LED lighting will:

Save energy. Use at least 75 percent less energy than incandescent lighting.

Perform better. Qualified products distribute light more efficiently and evenly than other lighting options.

Save time. Changing light bulbs will be a distant memory. Qualified LED lighting lasts 25 times longer than an incandescent bulb; that’s over 22 years based on use of 3 hours per day.

Provide convenient features. LED lighting can come with dimmers.

Be tough. Qualified LED lighting is rugged and durable – not breakable like an incandescent or CFL bulb.

Give you confidence. A three-year warranty ensures these lights will last.
