Solar Roofs Program

solar panelsThe Maryland Energy Administration has established the Million Solar Roofs Program to install solar energy systems throughout the State. Maryland was the first state to sign on to the Federal Million Solar Roofs Initiative.

 

Federal Solar Incentives

Beginning in 2006, federal income tax credits will be available to residents and businesses. They will be for 30% of net system cost (after other incentives) up to $2000 for residences. There will be no cap for commercial installations. A summary of the incentives has been provided by the Solar Energy Industries Association.
