Save Energy Now for Maryland Industry
Maryland Save Energy Now offers low cost energy assessments for industrial facilities in the state, led by the the University of Maryland Manufacturing Assistance Program (UMMAP). These energy assessment services include a one- to three-day site visit by UMMAP to evaluate energy use at an industrial facility, identification of opportunities for energy efficiency and CHP improvements, and a report on the assessment findings and recommendations. Low cost industrial energy assessments are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Maryland manufacturers. As part of the assessment, the Maryland Save Energy Now team will work with facility managers to identify financing tools and resources, including state and federal incentives that will make implementation of recommended energy improvements more financially attractive.
If Maryland Save Energy Now is unable to provide an energy assessment for your industrial facility, please consider utilizing the services of the U.S. Department of Energy's national Save Energy Now program (for large facilities), the regional Industrial Assessment Centers (IAC) (for small- and medium-sized facilities), or the Mid-Atlantic Clean Energy Application Center (for facilities interested in CHP and waste heat recovery). The closest IACs for the Maryland region are the University of Delaware and West Virginia University. In addition, we encourage you to check out the Industrial Technologies Program IAC Database for a collection of all publicly available assessment and recommendation data.
